Santa Clarita is made up of an amazing group of people who call this community home and we intend to tell its story one small business, artist, entrepreneur and non-profit at a time. “Empowering Women” – Zonta Club of Santa Clarita & LunaFest
Supporting and empowering strong women is what the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita is all about. Through their many programs they improve the lives of women and girls in our community and worldwide through our service projects, advocacy, education and awareness campaigns. The Women in Film Celebration and Conference featuring Luna Fest is one such event meant to bring together a collective of professionals and artists in the industry.

“The Show Must Go ON!” – The MAIN
Santa Clairta…in particular Newhall…has a thriving theater scene. One of these is The Main. The theater is a multi-use arts center, which features comedy, theatre, music, film, monthly rotating art gallery, classes, workshops and meetings. We visited with the folks who keep it running as well as the City of Santa Clarita which funds the operation and management of the space.

“Location, Location, Location” – Tribute Locations
Filmmaking is a big part of the Santa Clarita lifestyle with many indpendent and big-budget studio project shooting on location in the comunity. Santa Clairta is home to many of the business that keep the movie industry running. One such company is Tribute locations, a family owned and run business that helps many recognized shows and movies find the perfect spot to shoot.

“Helping Our Nation’s Heroes” – Blue Star Ranch
Nestled among all the horse properties in Santa Clarita is a barn that serves a higher purpose. Blue Star Ranch, and the horses that live there, exist to provide an equine-assisted safety net for mental health services. Equine Therapy pairs veterans (and sometimes veterans and their spouses) with horses. Under the supervision of a counselor or other mental health care professional, assisted by an equine specialist, they work through a series of exercises to improve communication and collaboration.

Welcome to Bloom Ranch! A hidden gem in located in Acton, this historical landmark is an amazing step back in time. A working farm that produces peaches along with other fruit such as plums, apples, prunes, olives, and pomegranates, the current owners have also turned it into a playground for artists and history buffs alike.

“Wish Education Foundation”
WiSH was founded in 2011 by a group of community education advocates and partners, specifically to help bridge the gap in state education funding and provide for student programs in the William S. Hart Union High School District. We serve over 21,000 students in grades 7 through 12. As a designated 501c(3) non-profit organization, the foundation acts as a separate and distinct entity that works alongside the Hart district to fund programs and initiatives not paid for by tax dollars alone.
