Stephen Daniels
Originally from Kentucky, Stephen moved to Santa Clarita in 1993 to obtain his Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production at the California Institute of the Arts. He has made short films and written several screenplays including a telescript which won the prestigious 2008 Austin Film Festival Award. He also has been recognized in several other script competitions.
Stephen is also the host of “The Talk of Santa Clarita” podcast, the only podcast exclusively about Santa Clarita and the surrounding valley. He has interviewed more than 200 guests on the show including Presidential candidates, Congresspersons, TV producers and interesting people from the SCV. The podcast is available through iTunes and YouTube. Stephen is also the President of Radio Free Santa Clarita, Inc, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to bringing new media to the Santa Clarita Valley. His organization publishes “The Proclaimer” (www.theproclaimerscv.com), an alternative news source for the SCV. He has worked in several aspects of the film industry from the development of script, to actual physical production and post-production. He holds a BA in film theory and an MFA in Film Production. Stephen lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and 10 year old son.
